Ira Ryan goes solo again
This is everyone's opportunity to buy from that classic one man shop, full custom, American classic handmade steel. From Portland, OR.
Go it alone: bike builder Ira Ryan leaves Breadwinner Cycles to relaunch solo brand | Cycling Weekly
I read he will likely have a booth at MADE in late Aug. - also in Portland, OR.

This is big news, and I just heard the rumor things were falling apart a week or so ago, but I'm not so sure this is the right group to take up much interest in it.
My favorite part of the article, however, is that I own the beautiful crimson Ira portuer. It's had a bit of a tough life since the shots with Ira but I'm slowly getting it back to its former glory.
Here's the day I brought it home...

Long time coming according to the stories I read, hopefully he's back where he wants to be.
And he's not the only one, Joseph Ahearne is on his own again now after Chris Igleheart retired and moved back home East I believe.

This was announced by Breadwinner over 2 months ago at the start of December.
Funny that it's suddenly a worthy news event in an industry media outlet.
Always liked Breadwinner frame designs and anesthetics. And Ryan is an Iowan so it'd be kinda cool to get one of his frames.
...but his reputation when he was solo before Breadwinner wasn't exactly the best. Hopefully it will be better after learning from the last 10 years.

He just needs to hire an office manager / project manager. Or, at least from what I'd heard. His building wasn't the issue, just communication and slower-than-advertised delivery times.
