Miyata 210 question.

I picked this up cheap today to fix up for the next vertically challenged person I know who wants a touring bike. My question concerns shifting. It has the original light action rear mech and a front indexing controller that did not come on the bike. ( It would have had drop bars and downtube shifters I think.) Anyway does the light action stuff work with indexing?

Stem's too high, rear brake housing is wrong but it went up and down my block real straight and it's a pretty light bike as is. Built right it could be a real solid touring bike.

Supposedly works fine with 7 as long as you are no larger than 28T in the rear.
Shimano Light Action rear for 7 spd

Excellent, the chain wrap is pretty high so if I could use a 24 tooth granny on it, it should go pretty low inch wise.

Light Action is definitely index compatible from my experience
That also looks like a long cage unit

It is long cage which still is supposed to only handle a 28tooth cog, but of course with greater wrap.

I was surprised at the weight of the one I just overhauled, especially after I dropped some slightly lighter wheels, pedals and brake levers on there.
