Shimano 600 brakes pivot bolt design
Building up with a 600 Arabesque set. My question is the brakes. I am keeping within 1977-1978ish for components.
Shimano br-6200
I bought a set of Br-6200, but is the pivot bolt and arm return spring correct (All the photos on line and catalogues on Shimano seem to say not)? They were a good price and I have a set of br-6208 I could use the pivot bolts from, so no big deal, but I wondered if Shimano made an early set with the duel pivot nut design or are they just put together from two different brake sets? More curious than anything!
Br-6208
Now the different pivot bolts.
Shimano br6208 & br-6200

The pivot bolt on yours has an Allen key fitting rather than a nut on each end as mine have. Very early on they might have used what was available, but no one has confirmed this.
I have seen one photo of a Shimano bb-300, I think they mean br-300.
https://www.velobase.com/ViewCompone...=117&AbsPos=13
The first photo shows a nut, the rest of the photos show the Allen key. I have spare bolts to change but I would like to see if it is actually correct.

Shimano 600 model progression
BB-300, 600. 1975-77
BR-6200 or 6210 (short reach), 600ex, Arabesque. 1978-84
BR-6207, 600ex. 1984-87
Info taken from velo base. I noticed short reach Arabesque has a higher number than later brakes. Is this correct or a mistake? Must look this up on Shimano site.
