Mavic MA40 erd?
Anybody recently build up some of these?

For 700c, I'm seeing 613mm in a couple different places in online, including Velobase.
I told Andy at Gregg's Greenlake today that I made a D in geometry. But I can measure a hub!

I'd say that's pretty accurate. I've built up MA2s with special spokes and remember 613mm as a reference. I think TB14s are near there (611 or so, in actuality).

It's very easy for the builder to measure themselves. Don't take published values at face value without confirmation. Use 2 measured j-bend spokes in 2 opposite rim holes, threaded on to the point where the top of the spoke is flush with slot in the top of the nipple head(assuming common brass or alloy nipple). Not the top of the nipple itself, note the difference. Once each spoke is threaded on perfectly, use digital calipers and squeeze the two j-bend hooks together, take the reading and add it to 2x the spoke lengths. This is the way Park Tool does it too, and they have pictures, and everyone loves pictures !

Thanks, [MENTION=146168]Garthr[/MENTION]! Your description and associated link is the first time I've ever seen an easy to understand description of this process. It really helps to know how deep to thread the two equal length spokes into each nipple: just to the top of the flat head slot (not to the very top of the nipple). And it also helps to use a digital caliper between the two j-bends.
I came up with 612, close enough to make me feel comfortable to use the published 613.
