Whats happened to the clunker challenge?

Hi Guys,
Is it me (and it may well be) but has this years clunker challenge not come up or did I miss it? If I remember rightly its normally around this time of year, $100 + $9 this year, 100km or miles if your brave...

I belted the whole 100k out in one hit last year which was a bit dumb of me as the tyres on the bike were just plain dangerous - I`m going to repeat the route soon on the same bike just sorted out/restored.

Dan.

I seem to recall them happening when the market isn't as good as it is now. Like some time in the Fall?

Ain't good here unless you're a buyer, a clunker build sounds fun.

I wasn't looking to step on any toes, but last year's challenge didn't reach conclusion, and the sponsor had only posted on the site a couple times over a period of months as we rolled into spring. I truly enjoyed the challenge as I know others do/did, and I wanted to do something in the same spirit - plus provide some other "competition" to people who come at the hobby on less frugal terms.

Wait...there are winners in the clunker challenge? I must have been doing it wrong.

Actually, I think I remember that entry. You stripped a whole lot of black paint off of a bike and its components, right?

that was me. I got 2 frames for like 40$ and both had been rattle can blasted- most the work was just removal and respray.
I also managed to score some 9 speed brifters from a salvage place for like 10$ . The stars aligned. looking now I sort of like the two tone wrap ( I was recycling old bar wrap)

here it is!
