Shimano SL-AT50 shift 7 speeds

Hey all,

Trying to finish my sisters Gitane mixte rat rod gravel bike and have a seven speed cassette on the rear.

1. Will the Shimano SL At50 ratcheting shifters pull enough for a 7 speed cassette?

2. Will 6 speed indexed Deore XT thumbies work with a seven speed cassette.

The RD is a Shimano 560 series Deore LX (8 speed I think)

And...found some 7 speed Deore LX thumbies. Problem averted.
