I installed them from the back of the lever as recommended by the seller, and they went on with the usual tugging and pushing, and they fit perfectly!!

I was going to finish up the job, take some pics, and have the bike ready for Saturday's Monthly C&V ride, but as I as tightening the pinch bolt on the rear brake, the bolt just spun. Threads are stripped! This is the sort of thing that can happen with old bikes, I guess - you sometimes find yourself victim of someone else's ham-handed work!

Anyway, I'll wrap the bars tonight, and get some pics - they look great!!!
What a touching moment.. You are the first person who bought sante hoods from me and they are fit without tearing.. I am so happy. Making a vintage hoods is something more than a business. I really want to give old bikes a new life I am selling bike parts almost 20 years.. (btw I am 36) and always want to have new hoods for my vintage bikes

I had read about using isopropanol as a lubricant to install hoods, so I tried that. I wiped it all over the bracket. Of course, I had to manhandle the hoods on, especially getting the widest part of the bracket through the narrowest part of the hood, but it was no big deal!

By the way, if looking to eventually expand the products offered, I am not sure that the last company is even operating (although their website persists) anymore that made reproduction covers for downtube shifters (and also fit wheel quick-release levers). I'd guess only one mold needed, and could have a variety of colors (I do not own a Celeste Brianchi, but if that color was offered I suspect you'd sell 100 seats to members of this forum alone).

Forgive me if I missed it, but do you make Campagnolo ergo hoods? Perhaps the first gen (8spd) in white? That would be awesome.

I get that. Eventually the NOS sets floating around will dry up, and offering them in other colors would be a good option. Keep me posted!

There still seem to be plenty of them around, too. I just picked up a pair for another project.

In other news, yesterday was my first ride with the new reproduction Sante hoods, and they were great! The fit is excellent, the feel is just right. I'll try to take some pictures after tonight's ride - I was too tired last night!

Very cool reproductions. I searched online for ST-7400 hoods and only found an eBay listing for $81.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/305549682948
How do your $39 repros compare and how much to ship to California.

Here are the promised pics. I'm not the greatest photographer. Here's the left hand lever with new reproduction hood in place. Note the nice fit around the bezel/flange thingy!

And here's the whole bike with the new hoods completing the Sante look!

So far, I've done 57 miles with the new hoods. After the first ride, I adjusted the angle of the bars, and now it's perfect! The hoods fit great, feel great, and best of all they aren't sticky, and I expect to get years and thousands of miles out of them!

The hoods look great. Genejockey showed them off on a ride today.

Do you make hoods for Universal Mod 61s?

Best lubricant to remove and install brake lever hoods is Aqua Net Hairspray in aerosol can. Spray it liberally on inside of hood and all around break lever base where hood slides onto.

Have you not read the reviews? These things are probably better than the originals. What are you waiting for?
