What a great letter, which must have imbued the gift of the bike with added sentimental value to the recipient.

A great bike complete with great letters. I like the fork crown. I'm not sure I understood the British useage of the word "transplant". Are you going to refurbish the bike?

Way Cool! Pump up the tires, re-attach the cables, re-tie that bow, and off you go!

This was an estate sale and did not meet the person in the letter. That is worth framing.

A friend and I in Spokane trade loads of stuff and it’s at his place, he has room. Our idea is to get rid of rust on the chrome bits and polish them up, but GENTLY clean the rest and leave the patina. I have a friend in Scotland who might enquire further. Oh, and we have the original wicker basket that the doctor carried her charts in!

Bikes: You had me at rusty and Italian!!

That is the fanciest bill of sale for a bike I have seen!

I look forward to seeing this progressed in a sympathetic manner.

BTW - just curious, what size are the tires?

Yeah, it seems like they were having a bit of fun with this. What are the plans? It look complete and sound enough to just clean it up, replace some consumables, and ride. A full-on rest would involve a lot of rechroming, etc.

I hope you keep that top tube mounted quadrant gearshift -- those are totally cool!

Probably EvapoRust to bright parts and very gentle cleaning on the rest. The patina is half the show here
