Nervar brand alive?

I see what are apparently new, 6 and 7 speed freewheels thus branded.

are these freewheels made in China?
If so, just another "IP for sale to highest bid", or simply pirated the brand

That's a marque I haven't heard mentioned in quite awhile. I am delighted with my Nervar Star crankset, other than the non-standard 128mm BCD, but fortunately I have the 46-38 ringset I want and know how to mill the mounting holes of a 130mm to make it fit (been there .. done that when I did that to a 44T).

No, not proper Nervar. They nevar made free-wheels anyway. Stick with Maillard. These are just cheap replacements like Sunrace. Looks like there is an issue with them shipping them out, too.

Shades of reviving the Simplex brand, also with freewheels. A single cog version was the first product.

Stamped, soft steel, cheap coatings, sloppy production, and only good for one thing, the scrap metal pile for recycling. Why spend and waste $20, even if they were in stock and available?

True, there can be a great deal of play in vintage Regina bodies, and I've never been a fan of the "flag on a pole" pawls. However, on all other counts, quality steel, superior machined finish on sprockets and other surfaces, use of the highest-grade ball bearings (they rarely corrode), etc., I'd choose a vintage Regina over the Nervar unit.

background -

there never was a "NERVAR company" per se

name a brand for a line of products created by the firm of Etablissements Peyrard de L'Horme

situated at 38 Rue de l'Eternite Saint Etienne

products yet being manufactured at least as late as 1988

firm seemed to cease play by the early 1990's

NERVAR branded gear blocks go back at least as far as 2008 when they were produced in India, marked "MADE IN INDIA"

name should be written in all caps as it it an acronym much like MAVIC & MAFAC
