So Here's The Gios

Picked it up last evening. Pix are from the CL advert. I plan to flip everything on the bike and probably use the complete SR group that has been waiting for a frame. If someone might tell me what kind of hubs those are I'd appreciate it. Look to have a factory buff. Everything is Campy except the ratcheted barcons.
And I have a bunch of questions. Any ideas on age? There are no ridges in the steerer so not likely Columbus. But the Campy NR seatpost is 27.2. Gios used Oria so maybe that? Searching the net I see few of the Compacts and no two the same. Does the "Plus" mean anything? It does have a serial# so I could possibly drop Gios a note.
It'll be interesting to see how the weight of the bare frame compares to a same size SLX/SP Masi.
At any rate any info about the bike would be most appreciated
Thanks
Charlie

Fork blades look pretty standard to me. And the tag on the downtube says Compact Plus. Has the adjustable rear dropouts and lugged stays like Compact.

On another front, is there a source for those rubber cable guide thingies that go in the rectangular holes in the top tube?

It's about half torn down now. More news later I guess. Practically everything on the bike is like finger tight. Seems maybe whoever put it together either didn't know or didn't GAF - or both.

Mid 80’s was the first production of these. Hard to date yours from the mixture of parts but the Victory/Triomphe crank is from ‘85 or 86. Yours has a long cage modded RD looks like. I have a mid 90’s Compact and it’s a nice riding go fast bike.

Thanks for the thoughts. Yeah. It's a pat81 NR with I guess the Rally cage mod. Amazingly neither of the pivot bolts are graunched. The brakes look quite old but of course no date there. I'm hoping that the steerer hasn't been cut too short for a DA headset. Why people seem to feel compelled to cut those things off the way that they do will forever be a mystery to me. The whole thing looks kinda like a mix/match Campy parts box assemblage. Still curious about why the hubs are so buffed. Fortunately the stuff is in pretty nice condition and should sell without much trouble.

Cheers

As purchased assemblage could be worse. Chain is amazingly long.
Somafab extended jockey cage
third party brake cable adjusters, with benefit that they won’t rust. Some substitute of pandas and holders, maybe later Campagnolo? Monoplaner repurposed.

you might have to go with a Shimano 600 headset, the lack of a washer to the lock nut…

cranks might have a 40t inner ring. A number of people like myself have sought cranks that take under a 42.

no applause for the mechanic that strung up the rear derailleur. Oversized cable housing end, something weird just in front of the stop.
this bike was probably put on the market as it did not shift.
