The Titan was indeed ahead of everyone with its titanium tubing, but you can also see that they were still taking baby steps into Ti frame building and there was not a big emphasis on aesthetics evident on the simple lugless welding construction and the pinching of the Ti downtube and seat tube which might have been looked at as an easier/safer way to accomodate the downtube shifter and FD hands, instead of trying to weld in mounts on to the tubing. A very different flavor bike, compared to its technologigcal contemporary, the Exxon Graftek.

Neat article. Interesting it was written 13 years past its last production. The later run having reinforced internal down tube was a 'band aid' but apparently a good one. The crimp is still ugly, bewildering not having their own or supplier with larger shifter clamp. Why wouldn't they have just sans the crimp on the later production and make a clamp band to fit a Campy or others levers?

No doubt or surprise its short story timeline. But the CR list owners registry looks pretty significant for such a low produced and short lived product. Also take in consideration its successful racing by some of the strongest racers in the country, and most owners whom were the era of big mashing chainrings, tall geared with tiny 5 speed corncobs.
The attrition is expected. Teledyne though backed and warranted from the start.

Yet here we are 2023, call it a half century later; rather impressive the manyTeledyne survivors. I suppose they're now respected with easy riding higher spinning and mostly as wall hangers.

I also see two listed on ebay priced $2,000+. Excellent with nice builds.

There were contemporaries, the Speedwell and Felma (sp?) out of Germany?
the Teledyne could have with a small amount of awareness, run the cables below the bottom bracket.
‘there were custom bikes around that used that solution.
saved a bunch of warranty replacements by looking decades back for a seatpost collar solution.

fun bike. It could “plane” If the right power and rpm. Pretty narrow window.
‘one could watch the wheelbase shrink in relation to the front brake power applied.
