Help me figure this out.
I’m trueing the back wheel and I keep going back and forth and just can’t get it true. I marked a spot that was rubbing the indicator, but I noticed that it had to go around twice before it rubbed the same spot. I’ve never seen that happen. Anyone have ideas?

some possibilities -
bent axle
bearing play
inadequate spoke tension
wheel not secured tightly enough in truing stand, if one being used

Bent dust cap on the drive side. Go figure.

Sloar,
Be sure to count the bearings in the hub, and make sure one didn't slide down into the space between the race and the hub shell. That kind of stuff drives me crazy when building and trueing. Smiles, MH

Straight axel, bearings are in cages and all there. I must’ve bent the dust cover when I put it back in. Had an extra that I carefully installed and everything is fine now.
