The freebies of summer

When folks bring C&V bikes to the LBS for disposal they refer therm to me (full disclosure, I was formerly employed there).

This little Shogun Is a full dress tourer:double eyelets all around, mid fork rack mounts, seatstay rack mounts, 40 spoke rear wheel, the whole migela.

Alas, the top tube damage will most likely make it a parts donor.

This Moto Grand Touring, on the other hand, is quite presentable. Gent called me and asked if I'd come get it. Short detour from my evening commute and I was loading it in the truck.

Pretty original for 1980, but this doesn't belong here...... sure there's a V-GT in the RD bin in the barn.

While I was loading the truck he asked if I wanted to take the other bike in the garage:

'77 Grand Jubliee, VERY clean.

Needs a chain and a cog on the freewheel, but if I don't have one I'm sure the good pastor can help me out.

Top, I've got you covered! Is it a Suntour Perfect or ProCompe? Maybe a 19 or 20T?

Looks like the second cog is iffy as well.

What a haul! Though the cancer on that Shogun made me wince.
