Wende Cragg Documentary

Just wanted to post this bit of classic and vintage klunker history, as I haven’t seen it discussed here yet. Hundreds of Wende’s amazing photos, as well as interviews with the Repack legends Repack Rider . A wonderful historical document!

Bikes: Yes, please.

Watched it yesterday. Nice! Probably the best-documented piece of bicycle history.

My book would not be what it is without Wende's photos, including this cover shot. I am blessed to have her for a friend of over 50 years.

Repack Rider I have a copy of your book from the first run. Great book! I think I read it twice and still go back to it now and then.

Another vote for the book, anyone interested in the history of MTBs better have a copy, or you're forever off the back.

The ^^^ rider's outfit looking curiously identical (sans helmet) to what I wore when I started riding dirt bikes in the 70's.

This is a magnificent book! I picked up my copy this past summer at the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, where I was fortunate enough to meet both Charlie Kelly and Joe Breeze. They were tremendously entertaining and gracious hosts. My only regret was not having more time to spend with these two legendary figures.

Would be great to find an early Breezer. Really like the looks of them. Don't think I've seen them come up for sale.

There are ten Series I Breezers. They are the most collectible bikes in the world. Last time one sold, it went for $30,000.

Yeah, I figured that about Series I. I like the evolution of the bikes in the subsequent series. Curious what kind of numbers Mr. Breeze produced past the first series.

Bikes: 1967 Paramount; 1982-ish Ron Cooper; 1978 Eisentraut "A"; two mid-1960s Cinelli Speciale Corsas; and others in various stages of non-rideability.

I have close to zero interest in mountain bikes or mountain biking - just not my cup of tea.

Having said that, this is a fantastic film. Simply fantastic.

Curious aside: Am i the only one who thinks Otis Guy sounds a little bit like Bill Walton?

Nice job on the filming and editing. I like the watercolor transitions. This was a top notch production. It is also interesting and I think helpful to show the start of mountain biking from Wende point of view. It was good seeing her reminiscing.

I used to feel that way, as well, but my mountain bike (see signature) has become my daily rider, grocery hauler, and errand runner.
