A bit cliché, but hard not to choose red for a Strawberry, although I was tempted by yellow.

Hard to capture in a photo, but the sparkle on this is crazy! Almost a color changing effect in the sunlight.

Still don't have the decals for this, and the bottom bracket is stuck in another frame (potentially permanently) but I can at least get started putting the 8s Record group on.

Test fit with replacement bottom bracket installed. I think it's going to look nice!

Also, I never noticed this scoop before at the top of the seat lug. Is this normal for these lugs or did the builder carve this out?

Do you plan to move the chainring to get the chain-drop pin behind the crank?

Done by the builder. No lug comes looking that way

Love the paint BTW. Subscribed.

Yes, although I didn't install the chainrings, so that's the PO mistake.

Now that I've looked through all the Strawberries I can find on this forum, I haven't seen any with the "double peak" like this seat lug. I wonder if that would jog the memory of Andy? I'd love to know who was the builder.

Andy had a lot of help after Mark left, many builders came and went, some stayed for quite awhile.

You need to bring it to Bob Freeman's show in July, there's one regular that always comes who worked for Andy and knows another one that has come there before too.

I'll try to have it ready by then! We might be off to Copenhagen in July, but it sounds like a great event.

I sent a message to SSSink to try to acquire some of the Strawberry decals they have in white. While I'm at it, I should get new decals for the Merz.

Neither of these bikes are getting a clear coat though, so not sure if they'll turn my nose up at me.

You may have to get Jim and Andy's blessing.

Neither clear coated normally as far as I've ever seen.

I may want to join you in the endeavour.

Do I need a doctor's note?

I know at least for the Merz, I'll need some sort of indication from Jim that it is indeed going on a Merz.

I had hoped for the Strawberry, a before and after powdercoat picture of the frame would suffice to prove I'm not just slapping it on an old Schwinn or selling them on the grey market.

As far as the build progress, I realized today that the Record FD has a 31.8 clamp on it. I'll shim it for now, but I wonder when the last time Campagnolo made 28.6 front derailleurs.
And I could have just had gugie braze on a FD attachment before the powdercoat... but I don't really like going that route anyway.

Supposedly SSI had the policy.

Can't imagine Andy not giving the ok.

Dave Levy told me he wouldn't do it on mine and would give me a clamp if I needed one but I already had a Campy clamp for the Athena FD I had, he said they can't be trusted.
