Trying to identify
Hello,
I am trying to identify a bicycle I received in spring of 1969. I no longer have the bike, nor do I have any pics of it, but here is what I remember:
- It was a gold colored boys bicycle with a banana seat ( I believe it was white), a low sissybar, and wide "stingray type" handlebars.
- It had wide-striped white wall tires.
-It had a t-handle shifter, either 3 or 5 speed with a wood grain flat panel gear indicator.
* But here is the distinctive part that I'm hoping might jog some memories -it had purely decorative/non-functioning springs on the front forks.Very unique!
At the time I lived in the suburbs of NYC and since my parents didn't have much $ it was probably purchased at a department store. Definitely not an expensive brand.
Yes, I've Google searched images but haven't had any success, so perhaps the sharp-eyed experts here might have some ideas. It's worth a try!
I appreciate any help! Thanks!
