Help identify unknown Performance model
Hi all, I would like to request some help in identifying this mystery Performance bike. I'd hazard a guess that it's from the mid to late 80s based on the Performance decals, but I could be wrong. Tange Prestige tubing throughout, chromed Shimano EF dropouts, Eisho (?) bottom bracket shell, and no serial number. Google isn't much help; searching "80s Performance bike" brings up results for 80s performance road bikes, not 80s Performance-branded road bikes. Anyone have any leads or ideas what this could be?
Also, would anyone like to suggest how I should build this up? I was thinking of going the restomod route, something not too expensive.

Nice frame, clean brazing. Braze-on front derailleur tab. Bottom bracket is a Sugino Mighty MW-86.

Another Performance decal. Campagnolo headset with white grease inside, so it might have been originally installed on the bike.

Shimano EF dropouts.

Eisho bottom bracket shell?

Bikes: Cuevas & Cimmaron are my full time riders, small MB-3 and large Competition GS are my sometimers
Performance bikes tend to punch above their weight IMO.
Performance bikes .... get no respect?
I have seen that model before but not sure what the name is? Parabola, Focus, Salamagundi, Superbe, Corsa, Campione, Blu Ridge, R203 were all Performance road models. They contracted with lots of quality builders including Biemmezeta + Serotta
That Tange Prestige frame is very nice If you want to keep it reasonable find a Shimano 105 or 600 group or donor bike. If I was starting fresh, I think I would be looking for Superbe parts to put on that frame.
Performance + bikeforums.net, in a google search will bring up threads you can dig through
Edit: your top tube graphic resembles the one on the Serotta made Performance from 1990, might give a clue on vintage - https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...831477471.html

- Shimano 105 11-speed (get a Shimano 11-34 cassette and you can use non-11 speed wheels). Smooth & reliable even if it's "boring". Oh, and a non-series Shimano 50/34 crankset instead of 105 (not much difference, but less money).
- Microshift Centos 10 or 11-speed (same trick with cassette). Nothing blingy, but performs superbly and hasn't broken yet. Same crankset.
- Sensah Empire 11-speed if you are OK with SRAM-style shifting. With US tariffs it isn't as cheap anymore, but it has lasted me 2 seasons on the road and a winter on the trainer. Same crankset.

Bikes: More than the people who ride them...oy.
SoCaled has it right. It’s 1989-1990ish. Not sure who made that one though whoever did, the braze work is very nice.
As a 1990 you have several ways to go to be period correct-ish and resto-mod!
Tricolor
RX100 or 6500 Ultegra wouldn’t look out of place.
Early 2000s Campy Mirage would be fun
Or SunTour Sprint if you want to stay cheaper in the period.
