Sharp rim butt under the hook?
I was pulling out some wheels that I laced to out some rim tape on and I noticed that where the rim ends come together, the weld is quite sharp on both sides. It's under the hook where the bead would go, but I still think this might be a bad thing when I through a tube in there. Matrix Aurora rim.
Tempted to get a little file in there and sand it down, unless that's a bad idea? Anyone encountered this before?

I would consider some emery cloth or wet and dry sand paper to smooth the offending area. That said, if the rim is not special, keep it in storage, like I do until you have no more dog gone room left to store anything except and idea or two.

I'm not seeing what you are describing, jPrichard10 , but I do see what looks like a crack -- in the weld?
