Ok
measurements:
this was odd because I’m used to measuring a seat tube, but the seat tube is Ford of the bottom bracket.
center of bottom bracket to center of seat tube/top tube junction: 60cm
center of seat/top junction to center of head/top: 49cm
there are numbers on the bottom!!

The serial number looks like 3463 485 ( or 405).
The first four characters are a date code:
3 - day of the week
46 - week of the year, which translates to month November.
3 - year of manufacture, 1973.
This is a typical Gitane serial number for the year 1973.

Is this a real tall bike?

What is "collapsible" ?
Was this the term for quick release wheels?

OK... I get it. Positioning of the bottom bracket and down tube and seat post to accommodate positioning of the wheels when transported...
