Bikes: 1985 Bridgestone T700, 2000 Flite 300, '09 Jamis Sputnik, 77/78 Motobecane Grand Something, Bridgestone CB1, 75 Takara 732, Austro Daimler Inter10, KHS Crossway.

Thinning out my "collection"

I presently own eight bicycles. a few I purchased via eBay or Craigslist and the rest orphans I rescued from a bile co-op. I'm facing some upcoming surgery and haven't been able to ride for a few months and maybe not for another few. So I've decided to sell some of the bikes and am seeking a little advice (then I'll post pix, prices, etc.
I wish to keep at least three of the bikes. Any thoughts, comments, advice? All of these are in very/excellent shape

2009 Jamis Sputnik, 53cm, riser bars. Fun bike, good condition
1992 KHS Cross gravel restomod (Trek fork). 50cm Many, many new parks, new paint
1991 Bridgestone CB-1 49cm step-thru. Restomod, upgraded. Black, original paint, mechs like new. I'm 5'6" fits me perfect.
1985 Bridgestone T700. complete overhaul. New 27" wheels, upgraded to 18sp (suntour 4050 accushift), fenders, rack, etc. cross country ready. A bit too big for me
1977 Motobecane GT. 20x21" Restomod. Powdercoated, Mostly original, beautiful bike. City bars with barcons. fits me
77/78 AD Inter 10. 20.5x22" Restomod, Powder coated light coffee colored. Mostlly original AD parts. Mustache bars with barend shifters. Very light, fast bike. Bit large for me lengthwise
1975 Takara Model 732. 20.5x21". Restomod. new burgundy paint, Now 12sp (thumbies) flat bar city bike. Has touring wheels from the T700. Very sweet comfortable ride. (high 10 tubing, but NOT heavy)
2000 KHS Flite 300 49x50cm. Complete rebuild from bare frame. 2x7 close ratio gearing. Exage goup/wheels from '97 Cdale. Mustache bars with barends. Very light, fast fun bike. Fits me perfect.

I want to keep the Flite 300. and then either the CB-1 or the KHS gravel bile and either the Sputnik or the Takara. Any advice/insights gratefully accepted. Then I'll do some posting here.

As you aren't ready to sell yet, we have moved your thread from the Sales Forum to C&V.

Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

If I were going to do something sensible like reduce the fleet to 3 bikes, I'd keep a road bike for long rides, a lock up bike for running errands, and an in betweener for riding rough stuff. But that reflects the kind of riding I do regularly. And I'm fairly confident I'd cheat and keep 4 . . .

Sell the ones that don't fit you perfectly.

Keep in mind that smaller frame C&V bikes tend to be slow to move. And this year is definitely a slow year for all C&V bikes. So you might not be able to unload them before your surgery.

Bikes: 1987 Centurion Ironman Master, 1992 Koga Miyata Exerciser, 1992 Schwinn Crosscut

I'd keep one of your mustached bar end bikes.
That's become my favorite cockpit configuration!

I believe my suggestions (red above) track with what you have said. Here are a couple considerations I would take if in a similar situation. Fits perfect is a great reason to hang onto a bicycle you like. However, if there is componentry on another bike which you would prefer (excluding things that could conceivably affect the fit), give yourself the best of both worlds. For instance if a non-keeper has derailleurs and a front rack that you like better - this would be a great time to make the switches so you end up with three dream bikes instead of having one or two that fall just a bit short.
