I have one on my toolbox. It matches the logo on the forum. I have some of the newer Box o' Crap stickers which I helped Mad Honk produce.

This is from 6 years ago. I wasn’t sure I’d find it, but luckily “crap” turned out to be an efficient search term.

Rob, will you try to fix the frame, or is it too far gone in your estimation?

I may have a brother of that one.

Even the original color.

And maybe the features around the head tube

I have checked the tubes with a steel straight edge it they are straight.

As purchased. Note the Giant front fork. HMMMMMMMmmmmmm.
Found a bent 1985 fork

And straightened it out.

A friend of my sister brought me a bike to tune up that was nearly as bad. He had actually been riding it for a few years and didn’t really notice the bend after his crash. He did notice that it rode funny. Along with the bent frame, there was the most play in the headset that I have ever encountered; it must have been enough for 1/2” of movement. It was a nice Raleigh hybrid. I found a very nice Schwinn CrissCross that I fixed up for him. He was pleased with the transition. In retrospect, I should have taken the Raleigh for a test ride for educational purposes.

Forum member jcb3 made a batch of the stickers for one of the first years of Eroica California. He passed them out to forum members to put on their bikes or numbers to try to make it easier to identify each other.

I wonder who the poor guy was at the Trek factory that was assigned to make those 760s all look like that. Hope he had good medical benefits.

If the top and down tubes look like that, there's a fair to middlin' chance you don't want to see the fork . . . .

The specs for the 1984 fork was 38mm of offset. The jig, DIY loaned to me by an acquaintance, helped get me there.
It is a nice ride and easy hands free capable.

Oof, devastating to see what is almost certainly a perfect match.

How long ago did you pass it on? And please don't say "after the head on collision."

That particular 760, guessing four or five years ago. If I correctly recall, buyer had driven a significant distance for it. Most gracious and what stood out was the buyer offering me more than what we preagreed to. I declined that of course but what a nice gesture from him.

Regardless, hope whomever was on the OP bike survived without harm.

Way more efficient at getting a short wheelbase than those split seat tubes.
