Latest score.

And, technically a fixed gear.

I used to be able to ride one in my late 30's, early 40's. We'll see if I still got it at 70 after I replace that tire. And tube. And rim. And bearings.

Neat unicycle. When I worked in a Schwinn dealership, I tried to ride one a few times but never mastered it. My wife used to ride one. Her brother had a a smaller wheeled one and a larger one and helped her get started.

That looks like the 20" wheel. Is that right? I think the bigger one was 24".

Yes, a 20". I had a really crappy one when I was riding. I was kind of glad to see it go. I found this one at an antique store with a half off tag on it. I pulled it out to look at, hemmed and hawed a bit, then tried to put it back. I don't know what sorcery the seller used to display it but I could not get it to stand by itself. After several attempts, I decided it was easier to just buy stupid thing.

The famed Unipiper of Portland, flaming bagpipes and all.

Nope, but the guy who wears a kilt, a Darth Vader helmet, and plays flaming bagpipes while on his unicycle has passed through my mind at times.

I had a unicycle (see my avatar). After many hours of trying, I was able to balance while standing still. But, once I tried to get forward movement, I lost balance. When I moved to my new house, it was one of the items that didn't come with me.

I always thought it would be cool to have a shifting unicyle but last I looked they were pretty crazy money.

Then I guess The Monkees' unicycles don't meet the criteria, also. They have 3 wheels. That makes them tricycles.

I showed this before in the Miyata thread. I bought it for my son when he was in high school, but he never got around to learning to ride it. At my age, I'm not inclined to risk it either.
