Photos of the drive side and some close-ups of lugs and BB might help others to identify the year and model.
Nice paint job!

Seems like it says "Prestige" on the top tube, but online catalogs don't show that color. Here's a link to the 1989 catalog: https://www.vintagecenturion.com/lit...on_Catalog.pdf

Bikes: Cuevas & Cimmaron are my full time riders, small MB-3 and large Competition GS are my sometimers
Edit nlerner types faster than me
After zooming and squinting, top tube says "Prestige" https://vintagecenturion.com/models/...prestige.shtml
It does look very similar to the 1989 model but in a different colorway. Not a U.S. model? Custom paint? whatever it is, great bike, step up from the Ironman

Not sure what happened, but for me, the thread seemed to disappear for for awhile....I tried revisiting and checking "my Posts" but could not find it and this AM here it is again.
Still curious about its origin.

Yeah it does look like the '89 Prestige. I am looking at the seat cluster and they look identical. The little squares in front of and behind the Centurion logo are also identical on both bikes. I am going with it being a non-US model with a different color scheme
Beautiful bike.

Looks very much like a 1989 Prestige. I'm guessing a repaint, given those colors appear in no Centurion catalog and the lack of a Tange tubing decal on the seat tube. The group-set looks right, Ultegra 600, Sampson pedals. Note replacement brake lever hoods, a little ill fitting, which would have been white originally.

Fuzzy memory but… I seem to recall that paint being stock back then. There was a year or two (1989-91??) when everything was available in neon fade. I think I may have suppressed those memories.

Looks like $199.99, am I reading that price right?

That Vintage Centurion website for the Prestige model says "...in 1989 The Montogomery Securities/Avenir Team used the Prestige as their Team bikes."
Would a team repaint frames? If so, more of mystery how it ended up at a thrift store.

From the looks of the wheels it looks like it dose not have many miles on it.......is it at a thrift store or?
Tri color group is nice and paint looks good etc. etc. Prestige is a +++
There is nothing wrong with asking for a better price........or at least 199 including tax........
Others may say that they got a super deal , saving a few dollars and passing it up, might give you regrets........It looks super clean and will you find another with that paint and in that condition...maybe maybe not.

No sign of damage, nice components, higher end lugged frame... if the size is right and price is doable then seems like a deal?
The only reason I'd pass is the color (too flashy), which of course can be changed but that's extra $... or $$$ depending.

You know more about your financial situation than any of us, so what is you comfort level with the buy? I mentioned in my previous post, you may find another for less but is saving 25 or 50 worth the time and effort for the hunt? Only you can decide that.
I'd certainly try for a better deal. There nothing wrong with asking the manager for a better price, all they can say is no.........For me the color would be a real bonus, why be like all the other "Prestige" owners?
Check out the tires and other things and make an CASHoffer Tax included.
If it fits and floats your boat and you can manage it then, I'd go for it, but that's me......I'm an enabler

If it fits, do not hesitate. If it is just a tad small, do not hesitate. First thing I noticed was the dropout brazing. Lovely frameset and being a Centurion fan, you cannot go wrong at <$200😉

Buy it! ( provided it’s the right size for you)
The 600 tri-color groupset is one of the most versatile groupsets. You can stay with the DT shifters or upgrade to brifters. The hub on the bike could be Uni-glide. You can upgrade to the hyper-glide 600 hub. Same with the brakes- you can stay with the single pivots or upgrade to dual pivot brakes. There are short reach brake levers available - But it is rarer. Heck you can even change to non-aero brake levers if you so wish! The 600 tri-color has all those options.

As mentioned above this is a step up from the Ironman. A nice condition Ironman (master or expert) has steadily averaged $200-$250 in the used market and they sell pretty quickly. Really nice ones have sold for $250-$400 (although those days are likely over) I wouldn't hesitate to buy that bike at $199 (if there is nothing funky upon inspection) I would walk in with the $200 in my pocket, make a lower offer and buy it at the original price if they don't take your offer.
