Thanks, Dave! The post itself is actually a non-BF one that looks great but was missing hardware, and the necessary bits from yours (originally Brewsmith — second-hand thanks!) cleaned up great with some Evaporust and polishing. I did do a bit of initial sanding on the other post and am pretty confident it’ll also clean up very nicely.

Ah, and shame on me forgetting to mention the absolutely gorgeous Regina freewheel — major tip of the hat to jdawginsc for being my chief enabler on this one!

I haven't heard anybody mention "Everbrite" in YEARS, but I have and also have USED it (many years ago).
It's a strange wipe-on (or you can use a brush or sprayer) resin that the makers are very cagey about spelling out exactly what this stuff is made from.
But they are clear to say you need to use Nitrile gloves to avoid skin contact, and use serious respirators if you spray it.
But BITD I had good results with the stuff. My sales contact was in Nevada, IIRC

Frame and build looks great ,I started Googling EverBrite before scrolling down and seeing UnWorthy’s post ,yeah they are super cagey about what it is [suspect there is more info on the tin ] but they recommend cellulose thinners for cleaning so in the family of stuff discussed originally ,the wiping on method would also def help quick drying and not too much product to react with original

I just remembered that what I was able to find out (years ago) led me to conclude the resin in Everbrite was Nylon-based. Very unusual if that's correct.

I certainly affirm its classification as, “Odor: Aromatic” — bring a respirator!

It’s still frigid and snowing here with no relief in sight, so I tried to get a few better pictures. The clear coat has cured nicely and feels great to the touch. Mostly just expressing my anticipation to ride by sharing here. Chain and cables are on the way, just need hoods… and springtime.

Sneak peek due to my own excitement/lack of restraint — just installed cables and chain and brought the drive train up to speed for the first time! Now waiting on riding weather… and maybe some white brake hoods…

this one is unusual, never seen this applied to any product of Pelizzoli, and I'm no expert on Italian Heraldry (if that's even what they call it in Italy) but the red "lily" is the very common symbol of Firenze (Florence) which AFAIK has nothing to do with where Pellizzoli hails from (Curno near Bergamo).

Then there's the dual coats-of-arms which appear to have something to do with Milan, the "serpent swallowing the baby" is all over that place so much so that's it's on the Alfa Romeo badge on every vehicle they shipped since early 20th century!

So color me baffled, I have no idea what significance these decals have!

BTW, congrats on getting this unique bike on the road , again!

Thank you unworthy1 ! I’m still hoping/waiting for a reply from the Pelizzoli shop, as I have so many questions. It’s been a pleasure to work on this thing, and for now I’ve accepted that it’ll keep its secrets with an air of cool Italian mystique. It’s only missing a smoke and shades.

Meanwhile, watching the mercury climb past 50 with nary a cloud in the sky, I couldn’t contain myself, so I chucked the Gran Sport pedals on and took it around the block. A small ride to minimize salt exposure, but my goodness it was fun! Much as I love my touring Miyata winter commuter, this was a welcome change of pace. At first blush, very light, very responsive (as expected), but surprisingly stable and smooth over a couple rough patches. I can feel it wants to go fast!

He really does lovely work. Yours looks like it has fairly tight geometry, should be a very responsive ride.

It’s got the Ciocc special sauce. I felt it as well. Almost like a horse that is tired of you pulling the reins back to slow it up.
