I was there this past summer and had great fun at the show and meeting all you fine Portland folks. I also saw "famous" people in the bike world but didn't introduce myself to many of them for some reason.

Well I met the famous "noglider" from NYC, great to finally do so.

I get it, I saw Anna Schwinn and just said Hi and grinned, she grinned back and then later I was at her friends booth and she gave me some very cool merino socks she designed.

Said Hi to Gary Fisher and said I was a longtime big fan.

Nodded and grinned at Steve Bilenky several times as he was taking notes every time I saw him.

Said Hi to Mark DiNucci and alerted Dave from River City Bikes that Mark was looking at his bike that Dave had on display.

Met and had a great talk with Storied builder Andy Gilmour.

Plenty of others as well and many local builders that have continued the great work that has MADE Portland the epicenter that it still is today.

Yeah, I find that I’m pretty shy even when I’m around people who are professional promoters. I did manage to Chris Chance last August, though.

It could be that I don’t focus on people. I certainly notice the offbeat. (From 2024
