Hi, I’ve been restoring a 1990 Tzr 125 for the last 18 months and it passed MOT last weekend so took it out just for a short ride today for a first test. Could have gone a lot worse but some issues which I was hoping some of you more experienced people can help with.

good points, it made it 5 miles, pulled really well which I was suprised at even lower rpm considering it’s got no working powervalve and is just open. Needs running in so only took it to about 8k at 2/3 throttle at one stage and it sounded fantastic with the K2 tech exhaust and was ready to really go!

Issues to be resolved and hoping people may be able to offer some advice. 1 about 4 miles in engine started cutting out when I apply anything more than half throttle, feels like a fueling issue I’m wondering as it was fine for the first 4 miles maybe there isn’t enough fuel flowing to carb and it’s been depleted in the bowl. Ticked over and revved fine and it made it home but it was cutting out intermittently. Any advice on where to start and how I can test this?

some small amount if what I’m fairly sure is coolant leaking a few drops when I stopped, nothing major this will be a case of locating and fixing the leak once it’s running right.

finally the forks are way too soft and bottomed out a few times. They’ve just been re built so should all be perfect has anyone got any advice here please?
