Uh, yeah, but we’re talking a DS lock ring and cup. Wrong tool.

That is on the other end of the tool in the pipe, never needed the pipe for a lockring and it would be challenging to take on the road.

Great riding with y'all yesterday. I hope the run down to Bodega Bay was as good as it looked like it was going to be. That's a great section of the coast.

Here are a few from Meyer's Grade:

^Great pics, Dave!

I’d love to try to meet up with you guys tomorrow if possible. I’m thinking about riding out from Berkeley early in the morning and then try to meet you en route somewhere. What time are you planning to head out from Petaluma?

Yeah, I’d suffer through a day of steady rain to get blue skies, sunshine, and views like that. Well done lads!

I'm not jealous; nope, not one little bit.

What was the weight of all the stuff in the saddle & handlebar bag? Not that it matters at all, I'm just interested.

P.S. - I am fairly certain it was Bodega Bay, not Tamales Bay, that was the setting for Hitchcock's "The Birds". It's a film I like and have done some online research about it. I even visited Bodega Bay once, a long time ago.

Actually, I think it is the town of Bodega, which is an entirely different town located a bit inland from Bodega Bay. Edit: Just looked it up. The Birds was filed in several area towns, including Bodega, Bodega Bay and Valley Ford. It sounds like Bodega was the primary location, but Bodega Bay and Valley had important scenes as well.

I had the pleasure of joining the TdMIL crew for most of the final leg of their tour today. I rode their route in reverse for about 40 miles before hooking up with them, and then shared harbor pilot duties back to Berkeley. Thanks for letting me join the fun!

Turned out to be a glorious day. Almost no wind, warm but not unbearable temperatures.

It was my first significant ride on the Jack Taylor. There were a couple small bugs to work out (special thanks to Andy for packing the small pliers that saved me from a loosening crank bolt), but it rode great overall.

Short stop on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge for some “bikes on bridges” photos.

Yep, communities of Bodega and Bodega Bay are not one in the same. The movie takes place in Bodega, with the local church and school being prominent in film.

Well, as someone, somewhere once said, all good things must come to an end. I’m back home after an overnight flight and just now taking a look at the pics I took yesterday. Many thanks to gaucho777 and bikingshearer for harbor piloting and good company.

For me, my handlebar bag, saddlebag, and all the kit I brought was 17 lbs total. I’m usually around 15, but extra rain gear came along this time.
