Picked up another one today

Can anyone help me? I picked up some bikes forma lady today that wanted them removed form her place, so I got it free.
It is a Gitane Gypsy sport. I have done alot of looking online already but can't find anyting about it. It is in ridable condition as is but if it is worth it I will fix it up and use it myself. I am always looking for old bikes to fix up and am having a great time with it. Just wish I could find my own info so I didn't have to go begging for it. Any help would be great. Thanks guys and gals.

The Gypsy Sport was an entry model from the late 1970s. It replaced the Gran Sport, if I recall correctly. I believe that I have the original specs from the about 1978, if you are interested.

Wow no Gitane fans here I see. I like the size of this bike, it looks to be a good candidate for a touring bike. She is alot bigger than my Prelude.

Stacey - I for one would be glad to help, except I don't know a heck of a lot about Gitane's. Pictures seem to have a magical effect upon some of us here. If you could post some, and possibly a couple specific questions that you have, I think some of those missing fans might come out of the woodwork.

I'm a big fan of vintage Gitanes. I don't like my Peugeot PX10 so much any more since I built up my Tour de France. I joined that Gitane newsgroup long ago, but I'm not active because I can't deal with that newsgroup format. I've never been able to see any of the pictures that are supposed to be there somewhere. Set up a real website with a forum and I'll get active!

As the master administrator of a pontifical office, you are probably used to directing your underlings to perform these menial tasks. Check out https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=86968 for some step by steps.

I am also a Gitane fan/owner, I just don't know much about them, 'cept that mine's "rocket red".
