marushi
I bought a 49cm marushi. Contacted Sheldon Brown who says he knows nothing of the bikes. thanks to the knowledgeable person on Ishawata tubing. I'm still wanting an 853 bike. Does anyone have any recomendations? Somewhere I saw a Schwinn peloten which supposedly has 853 tubing. Frame weight that was listed seemed heavy. Do the schwinns ride nice? thanks

I don't have anything really constructive to add to this... however:
You should check the transcription of your words:
Maruishi, Ishiwata, Peloton...
Search engines only work if you put in the proper spelling.

I do remember the name Marushi, although it might have been spelled Maruishi. It was a very obscure Japanese built line of road bikes sometime in the 1980's-along with the Sekai, Shogun, Miyata, etc. Japanese bikes being imported. I believe that they used the standard components at that time period. Good solid bike, should have no problem getting parts for it.
