Pinarello

Yes, I'm new here. I'd like to know approx. value of an older Pinarello racer.

I think it is a light steel frame; has oympic disc,Pinarello, Treviso, Marca Dep. on logo ; gear and brake levers are Shimano RSX; peddle says pdmx15; it's 14sp.; shimana 600 on the other parts. please give me some feed back. Is this a good bike and approx. how much is it worth.

thanks, Kirk

Bikes: Crap. The box is not big enough...

The parts group indicates that it is a later version, although the olympic victory stuff came from the mid '80's. Treviso is where it was built. The actual model should appear in text on the top tube near the handlebars, although this almost always goes missing. marca dep. is the rough equivalent of trademarked, I think. The RSX is probably an upgrade to get 7 speed brakes/shifters onto an older ultegra group, would be my guess.

The value depends heavily on the condition of the frame and finish, and on the condition of the parts. Columbus SL frames in good condition will fetch $2-300 on ebay. The parts group that is on it is not particularly coveted, so it may be worth another $100. If the bike is near perfect, it will bring more. If it is thrashed, well, not so much. Dents? Scrapes? Forks bent? Big dollars off.

Pinarellos are really nice bikes - hope you can save this one. Post pics for a better guess at the value.

Oh yes, today I looked real hard on the top tube and found Marcello 85, I think was what it was. I guess this is the mod. Was that a good mod.? Was it a middle of the road, cheap, or very good bike?

Thanks, Kirk

Could someone please instruct me in how to remove a picture from my computer to this forum? Sorry, and I know I should know how, but I don't.

Thanks, Kirk

Um... Montello? One of the best that Pinarello made back then, and a very good bike. To post pictures: Go Advanced -> Manage Attachments. Navigate to the image that you want to post and click on upload. Pictures must be under 100 K - you can reduce image size in Paint or another graphics package.

look at https://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/pinarello85/4.jpg. That is an '85 montello...
