This Bianchi has seen better days, but it is surprisingly light for having a 60-61cm frame and beautiful Italian lugs, which appears to be hand made.

Does anyone know what model Bianchi this was or if it even is a Bianchi? There is a kick stand mounting plate under the stays, which I had thought made bikes cheap, but this bike in no way feels cheap. This bike definitely is no dog on the road, unlike my SR.

Serial number : 2D70543

There's no separate derailleur mounting hole on the dropout, so this isn't one of Bianchi's finest. Aside from that, I don't know enough to really say.

Yes, but your dropouts are forged at least.

The lugwork looks Italian and late 1950s or early 1960s. However, I can't say that I've seen a Bianchi that matches these. Have you found a serial number?

The dropouts look stamped to me. Not a sign of a high quality frame.

found a number stamped on the front of the head-tube lug: 2D70543

You may be right about the quality, bottom of two lugs have slag or a seam
