dustcaps for pedals

I posted in Mechanics, but no one's go a clue; maybe youse do. Anyone know if I can use the widely-available MKS dustcaps for the old stock pedals on my '72 Raleigh Grand Prix? Also, can anyone describe a method for unscrewing the dustcaps off of some old pedals (I think they're Campy, but not sure: they say "Made in France.")

Your pedals are probably Lyotards, reknown for flinging off one or both dust caps. It happens with such regularity one would think the shoulder of the road would be littered with them.

Bikes: yeah; got a couple...

Made in France won't be Campagnolo... Possibly Lyotard or Maillard. Those pedals are probably not hard to find on eBay.

Some dustcaps have a slot in the center: insert flat bladed screwdriver and turn!
Some need a special wrench, others just snap in.

Are you talking about crank dustcaps or pedal dustcaps? These pedal caps don't have a slot or any beveling on the edges--they're totally round.
