Raleigh mystery

I was given a Raleigh road bike about five years ago and, after realizing it was too small for me, I put it in storage. I decided to sell it earlier this week and was bombarded by questions I couldn't answer when I listed it. Primarily, what model and year is it. There are no decals or emblems left, only the stick'um where they once were.

The only identifying features are:
1) serial number J455484 (located on bottom side of crank)
2) Two "-W-" shaped holes by the SN on the bottom of the crank.

Any leads as to the make and year would be greatly appreciated! Also, if anyone has any idea of what the bike's worth, that would be helpfull as well.

Thanks.
