Bikes: cruiser,hybrid commuter,and various other bikes and bits laying around

Can anyone give me the approx age of this bike ? I paid $10.00 AU for it .

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

Just a guess - it looks kind of late 70's to mid 80's to me

Thanks for the input , what's interesting is the only info I can find on these bikes are that they stopped making the Bennett models in the mid 70's . The same company made a line of mass production bikes but the bennett's were a specialized order .It's hard to find much info on bikes in Aus . Oh the frame also has a sticker on the bottom of the seat post tube that say's made in japan ?and one at the top that says made by hanimex. Also has Brooks of NSW on it ?

You could always look for date codes on the components. Derailleurs, hubs & cranksets are common places for these. It's hard to tell if the components on yours are original, but given how well cared-for yours appears, I think it is likely that everything is original. www.vintage-trek.com has date code info for several component manufacturers.
