IDK if this is vintage enough. But it's a 26" hardtail. These were limited production from Ellsworth in 2006.

What's your opinion on the DTH tires? I want to replace my knobby tires with something slicker for the pavement and these are high on my list.

I have a 1995 Rockhopper in avocado. I put 1.75 Schwalbe Land Cruisers on. They roll smooth on pavement and give me stability when exploring gravel roads and dirt trails. I haven't ridden my road bike since the improvements to the Rockhopper.
Check to see if your crank arms are covered by the Shimano recall. Mine were and I got a new group set, FD, and chain for free including installation at the local Specialized dealer. Google Shimano crank arm recall for information on how to proceed. Because it's a recall, not a warranty issue, it doesn't expire.

I love the paint they chose for this era of the RockHopper. I recently picked up a fully stock 1995 RockHopper Ultra in the more subdued Avocado color.

I'd love to see pics of your Ultra!

I love my DTHs; fast and squishy, and they look awesome! The cool thing about the Princess's paint job is that it's possibly the world's most subtle fade; I think they simply put black primer on the back and white on the front. Took me weeks to realize it wasn't just lighting.
I'd love to see pics of your Ultra!

The ultra looks like this right now but I'm planning on throwing some CrMo Siskiyou bars on it once I retire it for the summer.

Uh oh, is the seat position that bad? Somehow it seems to feel pretty good when I ride, but I might have to look into a frame swap, haha.

Nah, if you like it, ride it. The primer thing is purely speculation.

The font on the Trek downtube decal suggests later than 96. The wishbone stay supports that theory. Maybe 98 - 99 if I were a guessing man. Date codes can guide you in the right direction, as will the serial number. Probably on the bottom of the bottom bracket. Either way, dang that's a nice bike! I think these were the very last of the US made frames.

Re: Trek 920 CL Find
I couldn’t find much online info about the 920’s. Will have to clean off the serial # and look it up. I bought it from the original owner and the only apparent mod was a set of haro pedals and removal of the dork disc…
Will circle back and post what the serial # reveals. It’s really a sweet bike with very little wear.
