Schwinn model
Wondering what this bike is. Trying to help a neighbor sell some stuff from around his garage. All original except the seat/post and the missing stickers.
Serial crXXXXXX on the right side of the headtbe which should be 1980 but the pictures I found online show different headtube badges, and they say serial should be on the left side. Derailer model is GT-150. Ask for any other info if you need it.

Looks just like the Varisity sitting at our dump right this moment. Except your friend's Schwinn appears to be in excellent shape even though it has lost its stickers!

Those look like solid blade forks, which I believe would make it a Varsity.
I just bought a woman's varsity with a nice frame and some rust and flat tires (almost ridable except for tires) for parts for $7 or $8.
Probably not worth much. Definitely would be dificult to sell if going the eBay route because the bike could be worth less than the shipping. Definitely something to sell locally.

Looks like a Varsity. They often show up at resale shops in my neighborhood for around $20. Put on $30 worth of new tubes and tires, and you have a reliable "go to Krogers" bike for $50. Some of the Varsities I see are thirty years old. If fresh grease is kept on the bearings, they might last another thirty years. Today, most teens end up on Wal-Mart bikes. More likely to last thirty weeks than to last thirty years.

the best part about varsity's is that only bike people know how good and reliable they are, so they almost never get compleatly stollen. some a-hole might pull the wheels off, but the frames are always lying around. and there are loads of cheap parts for almost no cost.
Schwinn knew how to build a solid bike, just not a light one.
