That cover art is pretty cool.

Those are the jerseys I'm thinking of, with some modifications.

I used to have their poster. I actually wish I still did. We won't go there.

RSes..

For those that may not know... riva above is a major dude.
I was shown a Centurion Dave Scott Ironman on CL, in Los Angeles. I put out the word for some "help." I also blindly sent my money to the seller. riva answered the call, drove across Los Angeles (and that ain't no small feat) and picked up the bike. We then arranged some trading of available parts, and not long after, I had my Ironman Carbon. Da Man Knows Da Deal.

Here is the back page of a 1972 Centurion Catalog showing the 1972 Centurion Professional and a 1982 catalog showing the Centurion Aero Professional. I have one of each of these. The 82 Aero Pro I have unfortunately needs the right rear dropout replaced, so it is hanging in the shed for now. I also have a 1980 Professional and a 1975 Semi Pro.
I live in Sydney but am in San Francisco this week, so if anyone has a 24.5 or 25.5" Semi Pro, or Pro Tour, or Professional they would be interested in selling, please PM me. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=491389 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=491390 |
I might have one or two more Centurion frames hanging somewhere. If I haven't already posted the serials I'll get them.
I see from post#62 that my RS's are a National 1984 and a Katakura 1985. Looks like the 80's codes are well cracked so I'll spare the component details. http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...ml#post2208689

Do you recommend I still post my serial numbers on this thread? Thanks. Sidenote : I like the jersey the guy is sporting on the catalog, I had that same catalog at some point. |

Man I hope you get that RT. I'd be anxious to see what you do with it.

Jerseys
My friend that designed some has just received his first shipment of some he did for a community college, and they look outstanding. I didn't go there, but I bought one. I will now see if he's got time to work on one for me. I'm taking into account two Centurion jerseys I have (one is easily 70's, and looks it, one has got to be 1989, and is great). Plus, we'll look at the jersey worn by the racers, and the one on the front of the catalog. The one on the catalog is similar to my 1989 jersey.
When he finishes his design stuff, perhaps I'll post them for votes, but perhaps I'll just post the one I pick and take orders. Not that I'm king; I just like a simple life. |

I just picked up this one, a '76 Sport-10, first-year bottom-of-the-line model. Serial number N607564. It's now torn down for a repaint, but I'm saving the graphics as they are. Mostly original, still had the cotton bartape on it. Front wheel (not original), pie-plate, and pedals are toast, but the rest is salvageable.
Suntour "Spirt" FD Suntour 7-GT RD Dia Compe 610 center-pulls Araya rear rim w/ Normandy hub. SR cranks and stem. I've been trying to find out what mine is for the four years I've owned it. It's even less original than that now. Another seat, flat bars, new (ha!) Exige Biopace crank from my '80s Giant, modern but period-looking tires, new rear wheel. Wish I had that rack. Glad I don't have that salt air! http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492361 |

You want to see a master's work?
I'm good, as are many others of equal or better attention to detail, skill, and patience. rccardr is an ace, definitely a step up. QV, well, we can only aspire to that. If he were here and not having fun in the Down Under Summer....I'd buy him at least a pint. Maybe a lot more, so when he passed out, I could steal his bike and put him on the next plane back! http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...l#post18379107 |

1977? Centurion Pro Tour. Silver, not blue. Never seen that before in an early Pro Tour.

Any clue why my pictures got flipped? They're right side up on my computer and on flickr. |
Adding my recently acquired 70s Super LeMans:
It looks to be a 70s model, 1976? Serial No. is 6H0562. https://app.box.com/shared/static/tg...xkbtkgn6pr.jpg |
