Thanks. Spot on with the sizing. The reason the Ironman is single speed is because it's the bike in worse condition. The LeMans RS is dang near perfect. I have all of the 105 components off of the Ironman still for safe measure.

Riding like its 1990
Send me a number if you're interested in letting it go. A friend is looking to get a road bike for triathlons. I think his size will be 57-58, 56 may work too.
Anyone else, feel free to hit me up too.
I like that Facet, hope I see some of these come up this winter.

I'm currently selling my 58 LeMans RS, I think it's an '86, thought I don't feel like turning it upside down to check right now. It's been converted to a fixie w/ new wheels but I have all the original Suntour stuff and wheels minus the rear DR which was replaced with cheap Shimano by someone before me. It's green and white.

Got any pics of the bike? I'd love to take a gander.

A 54cm was on NYC and Conn CL for a couple of months.
I doubt it ever sold; he wanted $400 and it was below avg condition.

Serial = N6P5847
Group is Suntour GPX
When I bought this bike earlier in the year it had frame stickers that were in awful condition so I removed them. However I remember they said something along the lines of Tange #2 and CrMoly. Sorry for large pictures, photobucket won't resize them for some reason.
As a SS:
as tarck (please don't hurt me):

I think they are both '87's, but I'm often wrong about everything.

Thanks, it's been great to me, and it's the bike I've learned to work on bikes on, much sentimental value, just looking for an actual track bike now, one that actually fits me.

It's not going to turn up many bites for that price on CL. You're going to have to find someone that REALLY wants it. Where are you located?

Nice bikes don't last long on CL here in the Dallas area. If you refresh your page, you can see bikes disappear. Also, upon refreshing, you'll see about 2 new bikes pop up every minute. Lol.

You'd get $400 here, but the place for extended 2-way conversation is PM or email, guys.
Limitations on new members, with PM's is a PITA, I'm sure. It helps to keep out trolls.
Best way around that is to find some thread not used and post enough short ones to PM.

Tange OS or Tange Ovesize was the proper name for this tubeset. It was available initially in MTB and road versions, and later in Prestige versions. It had a number of new features to save weight, including shorter butts and tapers, tapered butting at the head tube end of the top and down tubes and the bottom bracket end of the seat tube. The post end of the seat tube used external "bulge butting" for reinforcement, though the literature is not clear and this may be only on the the ATB set? I'd appreciate if you'd check your frame for change in the external diameter of the seat tube, staring 2-3" below the top tube. I don't have any info on the gauges but later in the 1990s, after these sets were dropped from the lineup, it's notable that the Prestige OS set came in gauges equivalent to standard diameter #1, #2 and Prestige.

Serial #N5S631 I believe it it an 87. Ironman Dave Scott with Tange #1
I bought this as a frame only, several years ago. I put on Shimano 600 components from another bike that had a crack. Later got into triathlons and did an ironman (must've been why I got this frame). Currently has 8 speed STI (no picture of this)
I really like this frame. A great compromise betweeen responsiveness and comfort (plus not a fan of the easter egg colors - even in 87)

Centurion Ironman (I guess)
Serialnumber M8A00124
Parts I know are not original:
Bar-tape.
Saddle.
Tires.
Pedals. (No name, scavenged.)
Parts I don't think are original:
Rear-rim: Rigida Chrina
Rear-Hub: Shimano 105
Rear Quick-release: Close TACX ???
Front-rim: Weinmann
Front-Hub: Ofmega
Front Quick-release: Suzue close
Parts that could be original:
Brakes, Grips and Hoods: Shimano 105.
Crank-set: Shimano 105.
Group: Shimano 105, indexed. (Biopace.)
Headset: Shimano 105.
Stem: Nitto (Unknown, and stuck at the moment.)
Dropbar: Nitto, B115
Seatpost: Laprade SR
Bottom bracket box: Kaoita (As far as I can make out.)
As it, hopefully, can be seen in the pictures, it is Tange#2. The fork seems to be that too.
(Yes, it will get an overhaul.)
A guess:
All I know of the history of the bike, is that it was originally purchased by a Thri-Athlethe from Denmark (where the bike is still at). So I would have expected it to have the special Danish serial-number, instead of the generic Centurion number.
Even more so in ligth of the name, which differs from what I have seen on the net so far.
My guess: Centurion made this version for the non-USA market, but the Danish importer didn't import the model. Therefore it was specially imported for the Thri-Athlethe to Denmark. (Maybe by the general importer, maybe by someone else, or maybe he simply bougth it in another country.)
Comments and questions are welcome.
Merry and happay.

Tange 2 tubing wouldn't necessarily make it a non-Ironman model. The Lemans RS had Tange 2, also, but never had 105.
From the tire clearance, I doubt it has the geometry of the Lemans RS, though the size kind of makes that difficult to say 100%.
My impression is that it is simply a European version of the Ironman Expert, but with Tange 2 tubing. Pretty cool.
Miami Vice colors!
Far out.
Welcome to the forums, by the way.
Glad to have you around.
What are your plans for the bike?
