MBK Super Record

Hi, i just picked up a MBK super record but can't find much information about the bike. From similar items i have seen on ebay it is all record but the brakes look like chorus. If anyone has any idea or owns this bike i would appreciate it.

MBK is short for Motobecane. This is a very nice bike...needs a little cleaning and it'll be top flight. I think the parts spec is either Chorus or Athena, but in the early '90's Campy was hard to differentiate. I am sure that it isn't record...record cranks have only four arms; the rear derailleur cage is not the right shape for record. I can't tell for sure, but the brakes don't look like monoplanar (the left side pierces the right side of the brake calipers). That'd make it Athena, probably. That ain't no bad thing, either. Athena was good stuff.

Cheers, whatever it is it really rides nice. I have been using it as a training bike and it handles great. I think the French branch of MBK still sponsors the Paris to Nice. Really happy with it. Thanks again mate
