Information on Santini Road Bikes please
I searched the forum and T-mar mentioned this brand once when talking about pink colour schemes. I would like to know a little more about them like where they are made, what kind of tubing they used etc.. I may be in a position to buy one with Shimano SIS and non-aero brake levers so I am guessing it is mid 80s... that is all the info I havew thus far, I have contacted the seller but he seems to know very little. Thanks

I worked at a bike shop in the mid 1980s that sold Santini frames and bikes. I only recall two road models and a TT frame. As I recall, all of the models used Columbus tubing. The seat tube and head tube angles were very steep (like track bikes) but I knew a few people who rode them regularly and liked them. Their construction was standard for Italian frames, lugged and brazed. I only ever saw them in red. Never saw them in the US after the late 1980s.
Hope this helps.

Santini? Santini!
This thread is dead since 2-19-2006...but let's put some live in it.
I owe an Santini frame , i bought them on ebay just this summer. It is nos but has some from storing. It was built ~1994. The frame is made of "Columbus SLX" and the Lugs are from "Longshen" called "Fleur de Lys", it is yellow and I love it.
I did not know nothing about Santini by the time i bought it. By now i have seen four bikes, mine and three on the net. The others where quite normal nothing special down to cheap.
I was able to get in contact with the maker of my frame Luca Santini and he was able to give me information about this very nice piece. They stopped producing around 1998. By the time they just sell big names and everything else.
These are the Lugs:
