Super Champion rims from Moto Le Champion

Well, I can see this is the knowledgebase for high quality vintage bicycles. I'm trying to identify a set of sew ups that I pulled off of my 1975-76 Motobecane Le Champion many years ago when I decided to switch to clinchers. I am planning on selling them on ebay. I think they are 27" but I'm not sure, and I'm not sure what model they are (the red tags only say "Super Champion", surrounding "Competition"). they have 36 holes. I believe the bike is about a 24" or 25" frame (made for someone around 6'1" or 6'2"). I'm 6 feet, it is just a tad big for me. The hubs and skewers are Campy Record.

I am also considering selling the Motobecane - although this will be a little tougher (emotional attachment and all). It's all Campy (I swapped out the original centerpull brakes for Campy Record sidepulls to make it all Campy), silver, and in great shape for a bike this old. Reynolds 531 tubing, Brooks leather seat. Any thoughts as to the value of this bike, as well as of the sew up rims described above? Many thanks!!
Stu

Either they are clincher rims or they are sewup rims, but they can't be both.

One could make the case that with Tufo sewup clinchers, clincher rims can indeed be both.

The set I am selling are sew ups. Per frameteams note, I take it these are 700's (as opposed to Arc en Ciel or another named model), 28". Next question is, what they are worth. But, I guess that can be determined easily enough via auction. Thanks, and I appreciate any further comments. I might follow up with a separate post on my Motobecane, which I am also considering selling.

Wow!!! Well, I posted these on ebay a few days ago with a minimum price of $30 (showing my ignorance, unfortunately). So far, the bid's at $30, with a few days to go. Someone asked what the rear spacing is: 120mm or 126mm. How do I measure that? Thanks....

Super Champion did indeed make rims to accept EITHER sew-ups OR clinchers. They were called the "mixte" rim. I recently sold several pair of 'em. They were made right around mid-late '70s.

Spacing is the distance between the outside edges of the locknuts on the rear axle. Or you can measure the distance between the rear dropouts, assuming the frame has not been cold set. 5 speed is usually 120, 6 to 7 speed 126. If you put a reserve on the wheelset, then the low starting price is not an issue.
