Panworld Americana pulled from the trash!
I pulled a Panworld Americana out of a thrift store dumpster tonight. It's complete except wheels and in decent shape. It has a shimano eagle rear derailleur, but that's all I noticed as I pulled it out of the pile. It looks like it's going to be a bit big for me so I may just pass it on to someone else. Anyone have any idea what it's worth? I know pictures would help, so I'll try and take some tomorow.

You are the best to say if it is a clunker or not...
How heavy is it?
The Shimano Eagle RD is the same brand as I have on my early 70's Sears bike. I am not sure what years the Eagle was produced, but it would appear you have a bike from the bike boom.
My guess is it would probably ride nicely, and be heavy.
If I had that bike, I would probably use it as a project, and likely spend more money on it than it would be worth.
EDIT: You should at a minimum save more than the pedals. Probably brakes and derailleurs would be useful to someone in a restoration project... and they don't take much room.

Dropouts are stamped, stem shifters, chicken wings on the brakes: all indications of a low to mid level bike. If it's too big for you, I'd say strip the parts off for future restorations, maybe put the bare frame up on your local craigslist for $10 for someone to build a fixie out of.

I read the derailleurs wrong, I was mentally thinking Golden Arrows. Strip it, use the stuff for parts, sell the frame. Or part it all on ebay.

Did someone say Golden Arrow?

- Yes, that is a NOS condition RD, paired with the rest of the group (minus brakes).

Cuda went from seeing them and owning almost an entire set within a year, not he's rubbing it in. pffft. Nice looking minty rd. I wouldn't mind a set down the road too.

I don't think the Eagles are anything extraordinary... The earlier note about keeping the derailleurs was softened since the author had a brain burp and thought the reference was to Gold Arrows...

And I had to throw up a picture of my Golden Arrow RD just to tease he who had the brain burp.

I was thinking, and I remember seeing a bike like yours kemmer. I remember it because of those bars. It had those bent in bars, and it was white. It was a nice bike.

Yeah, I really like the bars. I'd probably conver it to a fixie if it was the right size.
