Dee-lite bike from Vancouver?
I just bought a Dee-lite Riviera bike from a thrift shop. on the front badge it just says "Dee-lite" distributer, Fred Deeley Cycles, Ltd, Vancouver" it's a nice steel lugged frame. girl's/women's bike, 3 speed. Fred Deeley was apparently a bike dealer who eventually switched to motorcyles which is what they sell now. Any other info appreciated. I'm going to use it for an art project and re-paint it unless it's worth a ton of money or something.

as far as I know they didn't make any bikes themselves. They jumped on the bike boom bandwagon and imported low end hi-tensile gas pipes from Kuwahara through out the 70s. In the 80s the imported some nicer double butted cro-mo road bikes but they are far less numerous than the gas pipes. This information is from living in vancouver and being into bikes and just pure personal observation. I have always wondered if there was actually a Fred Deeley shop. so you have educated me, thank-you. Should be a good project. If you can post pics please do. I have never seen a 3-speed. All the bikes I have seen were branded "Apollo". Is the rear hub a shimano?
