That type of event would be fun. However, out here in The Realm of Lord Gates, we're a bit too snooty to roll about on such quaint but antiquated devices. And the knickers? I'm afraid not - it's Pearl Izumi or we don't go.

Was just getting excited about this until I saw it's in the very non-British venue of Minnesota. Oh well.

Bikes: 1959 Capo Modell Campagnolo; 1960 Capo Sieger (2); 1962 Carlton Franco Suisse; 1970 Peugeot UO-8; 1982 Bianchi Campione d'Italia; 1988 Schwinn Project KOM-10;

I have nothing against English bikes, but my mountain bikes are American and my road bikes are Austrian, Italian, and French.

For a Minnesota-based event, they should consider requiring Swedish bikes.

Bikes: Trek 412

I just bought a 1969 Raleigh 3-speed specifically to ride in this event next spring. I can't wait. I'll make a pair of knickers over the winter and I'll be set.

Then don't participate.

Seriously though, I would very much like to be part of this event one day. Pity that I'm as far as one can get from Minnesota. I would very much like to ride my '51 Sports "C" Tourist in it.

I must agree with onetwentyeight though - I'd like to see a path race in this event too, perhaps a genuine English time-trial for the club-type bikes.

Take care,

-Kurt
