Proper seat for a Raleigh Sprite..?

Dear Bike Nutz:

I have an early 70's (was told '73 or '74) ladies' Raleigh Sprite w/ 5-speed derailleur, brown color. I has a Brook B72 saddle. I was wondering if this would have been original? Maybe an optional upgrade? I've seen a lot of older Raleighs with the black "mattress" style seat.

Also, does anyone know if the oval pedals on this bike were also used on the Choppers? I've heard they might have some value. But pics of choppers I've seen seem to have standard rectangular pedals..??

Thankz,
-m

Probably an upgrade. Stock saddle would be a sprung Brooks vinyl.

Take care,

-Kurt

You're much better off with the B72 anyway. And yes, those Union block pedals were also used on the Chopper.
