Most obscure Dutch racing bike/frame in the US

Lynn's (CV-6) story about his newly acquired Reus bike ('makes you wanna go faster'), prompts this enquiry.
Now we know there are at least two Reus bikes in the US (Lotek's and CV-6's); I personally know of one Huissoon (yet another race-bred small framebuilder) bike in the US, and of at least 6 Gazelle's and I'm certain there must be several RIH's (there is a secret RIH society). Also, I know of at least one Zieleman, but there must be more, since they were officially imported at one time. So, let's have a ranking here!

1. Huissoon (1!)
2. Reus (2!)
3. Zieleman (several?)
4. RIH (many?)
5. Gazelle (too many?)

Please contribute to this list, and make it official!

Freek

hehe freek, why do you wanna know? We are crawling in Dutch bikes here (in Rotterdam too i guess ).

I have been thinking of exporting Dutch bikes to USA. If we ship containers full of Gazelle's Champion Mondials we will be rich i guess

hey I want in on this!

Zieleman, officially 238 imported into the US by Ko in the 70s/80s (info from Otto Beaujon).
imorter was the Meerman family, who also ran the McLean Bike shop where I first saw them.

I'd post yet another pic of my Reus but I'll spare you.

How about an Austrian hijack of your thread?

I know of perhaps 10 other circa 1960 Capo owners in California, plus one in Montana.

I'm not sure hijacking is a good thing, perse!

Anyway, an Austrian bike shop/bike builder hijacked the RIH name some time (long time) ago ....

Could be another thread (kind of like trivial pursuit really), how many 'double' bike names can you think of, or triple of course.

Gazelle (triple: Dutch, French (Paris) and a Raleigh brand in the WWII period)
Diamant of Belgium, Diamant of Germany
RIH Amsterdam, Netherlands, RIH Vienna Austria

etc?

Hah! I have a Flying Dutchman, full 531 frame, only problem is, I think it was made in Italy, as opposed to my Libertas, which I think is Dutch!!

Hah to you too! Libertas is from our friendly neighbors, the Belgians. Doesn't count!

What's a Flying Dutchman? In bikes I mean. And 531 too, I'm curious!

Darn, missed by one country! Flying Dutchman, made in Italy (so I've been told), not a bad bike if you find the higher end ones with full Reynolds 531 frames. They also made some real bottom of the barrel bikes, so they can be good or bad. ew

I saw a pretty old Batavus Flying Dutchman rotting away on the Utrecht Cental Trainstation. Pitty people are so mean for those beauties
