Once again bikeforum has gone downhill. Quickly.

Face it the grammer above sucked big time. Deal with it.

Lets polish some chrome and de-rust some metal!!!!!!

It used to bother me when someone typed in ALL CAPS until I found out it helps some people with Deslexia read and that's why they were doing it. There are also many in this forum where English is a second language. So can we please save the spelling and grammar lames for Usenet where the trolls belong?

TANKS, and hav a nice dey. :D

Thanks
Separate
I wonder how long I've been spelling it incorrectly

Artform
art form
I think artform looks and reads a bit nicer. I'll continue with artform not knowing -or truly caring- whether art form is the proper.

If this IS only a bicycle forum -not a poetry forum as you say
why are you making spelling corrections?
And why are you commenting on the destruction of language and such?
This is a bicycle forum.
Clearly you have the ability to understand what is being said well enough
So
unless you are the only one having rights to color outside of the box ...

Nearly impossible to read? I read them. I know enough about chrome plating to say that what he wrote is at the very least
mostly true
And yet here you are
making corrections as though you know everything and have never made a mistake in your life
having difficulty reading something
which I could rather easily

Communication is a bit of an artform
What was the first letter or picture that stood for something if not a work of art to be deciphered by the viewer? I'm quite sure it would have been thought of as being even more abstract than some O'Keefe painting.
If people did talk backwards people would still be able to communicate. We could all begin talking backwards today
and tonight
talking backwards would be the norm

I think we need to understand that rules are only rules to make things easier. a bit smoother.
If we expect everything to be written in english
and don't even bother trying to make sense of anything not outwardly recognizable as english
we're going to miss quite a bit. We already have lost.

"When I want to go someplace, I consult a map, I don't look at a Georgia O'Keefe painting."
Maybe I've been some places you haven't

Seriously, though
thanks for spotting separate.

The rules of English grammar exist for a reason. This is a bike forum, not a poetry forum. The internet is destroying the English language. I don't know why anyone would have a problem using proper sentences, punctuation, and diction. If JT has pearls of wisdom regarding chrome plating, I'd love to know what they are, but, unfortunately, his posts are almost impossible to read. Unless you are a fiction writer or poet, writing is NOT an "artform" - it is a means of communication, like speech. Do people talk backwards? No. Why? Because if they did, they wouldn't be understood.

When I want to go someplace, I consult a map, I don't look at a Georgia O'Keefe painting.

Back to chrome.

written English is dying as the Internet grows...

I like the Wood Bleach (oxalic acid) option...working for me so far!

So, so very painful to read.

Weren't we talking about chrome?

Guy at my shop is fond of using Comet/Bon Ami (sp) cleanser with water... I kind of prefer rubbing compound myself.

Your milage may vary, of course.
