Need help to identify "climber" shifter

Just picked up a shifter, looks like old mountain bike handlebar mount,on is stamped an L(obviously
indicating it is the right one),no other ident marks on it except the word "climber".The only thing
to make it stand out is it has a racheting action(like some of the suntour shifters).Looked at it again-
it could be asingle downtube shifter.Any who-done a search and got nothing,so i amd asking for
the knowledge of the forum to ensue.Anyone know anything about"climber" racheting shifters????
What info you can tell me about it will be appreciated,
Thanks
I will post a pic on monday is required

It looks a thumb-shifter.
