Info on Phillips 10-speed?
Going to pick up a mid-to-late '50s Phillips 10-speed in the morning -- sight unseen, but it's free so what the heck...
Seller says he bought it in the mid '60s (and it was about 10 years old then), rode it for 10 years then it sat unused 'til now. He intended to refurbish it but never got to it, so he decided to pass it on. Says it's in surprisingly good shape for it's age (we shall see), and should be functional with some new tires and cables. It predates Raleigh's buyout, so it won't be a cut-rate Record like a Triumph.
There's not much on the web on Phillips, particularly 10-speeds. Anybody got anything on them?

My girlfriend owns a phillips 10 speed. It is gold or brass color...a real beauty. I have actually tried to find out more about the 10 speed through this forum, but have never received a response. I know that Phillips is famous for 3 speeds mostly and those are not really valuable. But, I have no idea how valuable or rare the 10 speeds are. But I will say that it is a superb bike and works wonderfully. Hopefully this second thread will bring some new info.
