Classic? Vintage?

Pretty much anything older than 25 years, or a bicycle that has a unique look, like the GT Dyno Roadsters.

In our experience, if you take the average person-on-the-street and show them a bunch of cycles and ask them what's classic, they're going to walk right by any vintage lightweight 'cause really, they all look the same!

Bikes: A lot: Raliegh road bike, 3 fixed gears, 2 single speeds, 3 Cannondales, a couple of Schwinns

I have a couple "vintage" ride now two 1960s 3 speeds. Now for classic I'm staking out a Motobecane that's locked to a street sign in the neighborhood. I hope to get the owner on a good day and offer a bill or two for the ride, and see if he bites. What kills me is a friend just scored a classic Peugeot off a dumpster with an old skid lid trainer. I am envious of his chrome drops and Brooks saddle. I told him he had to give me the bike when he got tired of it.

Bikes: 1985 Nishiki International Touring Bike, 1992 Vitus 979 road bike, 1996 Bianchi Premio road bike, 2002 Thin Blue LIne CO2 mountain bike, 2007 Rocky Mountain Sherpa touring bike, 1964 CCM roadster, 1959 CCM Motorbike, 2002 KHS FXT mtb + more to fix!

I guess my stuff fits under "retro" - not classic or vintage yet. I have 2 mid 80's Bianchi road bikes and an early 80's Norco MTB. I basically own them because I picked them up very cheaply ( 3 bikes for $77) but plan to keep them and ride them.

By the way, nice website at www.oldroads.com The forum is always interesting - there is some amazing stuff people come across!
